Men To Be Arraigned In Shooting Death Of Boy, 5

SOUTH LOS ANGELES (CBS/KNX 1070) — Family and friends of Aaron Shannon paid tribute to the child during a weekend vigil where they, like many others, called and prayed for an end to the violence in South Los Angeles.

Shannon, 5, was shot and killed while posing for pictures in his Spiderman costume in his backyard on Oct. 31.

Police with tips from the public, including some from gang members, arrested 18-year-old Marcus Denson and 21-year-old Leonard Hall Jr. for the murder.

The two suspected gang members are scheduled to be arraigned Monday.

Meantime, Aaron's organs have been donated as his mother, Beverly Cooper, deals with the emotions of losing her son, so others might live.

"They took a life and we gave a life… that's how I see it," Cooper said.
