Qantas Airbus Experiences Engine Trouble At LAX

LOS ANGELES (CBS 2) — Qantas Airlines experienced more problems Sunday with its fleet of Airbus A-380s -- the largest passenger jet in the world.

And this time it involved one parked at LAX.

One of the jets had shown signs of an oil leak, Qantas chief executive officer Alan Joyce told the Australian Broadcasting Corporation.

Crews removed the engine beneath the Airbus, as it sat at the Qantas Jet park at Los Angeles International.

The plane is one of three owned by Qantas that have been found to be leaking oil. The other two are currently parked in Sydney.

The Australian airline is using some its Boeing 747 jumbo jets to transport stranded passengers to their destinations.
