Highway Flasher Arrested In Riverside County

LAKE ELSINORE (CBS) — A man who allegedly stripped off his clothes and approached a woman stopped on the shoulder of the Ortega (74) Highway near Lake Elsinore was arrested on suspicion of indecent exposure, authorities said Friday.

Jeffrey Edward Grimm, 43, of Lakeland Village was cited for the alleged misdemeanor and released Thursday, according to the Riverside County Sheriff's Department.

A Lake Elsinore woman told sheriff's deputies that around 2:30 p.m. Wednesday she pulled off the 74 to check a message on her mobile phone and noticed a man getting out of a green Ford Explorer parked in front of her.

The suspect was completely nude and walked toward the alleged victim, who immediately sped away, according to sheriff's Sgt. Tony Hoxmeier.

He said the woman flagged down a sheriff's deputy a couple of miles down the road and told him what had happened.

The victim was able to provide a partial license plate, leading investigators to contact Grimm, who "later acknowledged to being the subject during the incident," Hoxmeier said.

Any witnesses were urged to call the sheriff's Lake Elsinore station at (951) 245-3300.
