3.7-Magnitude Earthquake Rattles Long Beach

LONG BEACH (AP) — A small earthquake has shaken Long Beach and nearby areas of Southern California.

The U.S. Geological Survey says the magnitude-3.7 tremor occurred at 9:06 a.m. Friday about 11 1/2 miles beneath the port city on the south Los Angeles County coast. It was initially estimated at 3.8.

Port of Long Beach spokesman John Pope says there are no indications of any damage to the harbor.

Pope says the quake was a single jolt.

The USGS’ Internet-based citizen reporting system indicates the quake was felt throughout Los Angeles and neighboring counties.

    I did not feel the jolts, just heard the rumbling…No matter how small/big it reminds us to get our earthquake kits together and be prepared!

    I live in long beach i felt the whole thing and I hate earthquakes I’m pregnant so it’s bad for me to be getting scared I also felt the lil one at 11:56 am but the one was a quick tiny fast pull
