8 Students Sickened By Tainted Brownies In South LA

LOS ANGELES (CBS) — Eight students at George Washington Carver Middle School in South Los Angeles have been sickened by brownies that were possibly laced with some kind of drug.

Paramedics were sent to 4410 S. McKinley Ave. at 8:40 a.m., according to Erik Scott of the Los Angeles Fire Department.

The students were listed in "fair condition," Scott said.

Monica Carazo of the Los Angeles Unified School District said the students ranged in age from 11 to 13, and apparently ate "chocolate with some sort of drug," but it was unknown if it was marijuana.
