'Mummies Of The World' Exhibit Extends Hours For Final Month

LOS ANGELES (CBS) — Visitors who haven't yet checked out the wildly popular "Mummies of the World" exhibit can take advantage of extended hours – 10 a.m. until 7 p.m. – and then the sarcophagus will be sealed off at the California Science Center.

During the exhibit's final weekend, Nov. 26-28, visitors will be welcomed from 9 a.m. until 7 p.m.

"This exhibition traveled nearly 6,000 miles to become part of the rich and diverse culture of Los Angeles," said Marc Corwin, president of American Exhibitions Inc. "We anticipate a lot of traffic to 'Mummies of the World' in its remaining weeks in Los Angeles, and we encourage people to plan ahead so they won't miss their chance to see it."

The exhibit opened July 1 in Los Angeles and logged 100,000 visitors in the first seven weeks. A wide variety of mummies from around the world are on display in the exhibit.

To avoid lines at the box office, visitors are urged to buy tickets in advance online from the California Science Center.
