LOS ANGELES (CBS) — A life cut short in the service of country will be celebrated at the Cathedral of Our Lady of the Angels.
Hundreds are expected at the funeral of the LAPD officer who died as a Marine reservist in Afghanistan. Joshua Cullins was killed investigating a roadside bomb 15 days ago.
His mother Barbara Cullins said that although Josh’s duties were supposed to be administrative on this tour when other bomb techs were killed in the field, he stepped in.
LAPD Officer Stepped In When He Was Needed In The Battlefield: KNX 1070’s Pete Demetriou reports.
Cullins wanted to join the LAPD Bomb Squad following this last tour. Instead, members of that unit and hundreds of other military personnel and police officers will be on hand to honor his sacrifice in the field.
