SOUTH LOS ANGELES (CBS) – A 3-year-old girl was critically injured after being struck by a hit-and-run driver while trick-or-treating with her aunt in the Florence area of South Los Angeles, police said.
The little girl was struck by a person driving a red Toyota, according to Sergeant Ronnie Cato in the LAPD South Traffic Division.
The girl was sent to Harbor UCLA hospital with major head injuries and bruises. She was listed in critical condition.
The girl’s aunt was also hit, but wasn’t seriously hurt. Witnesses near by said they heard the crash but were unable to see it.
