SYLMAR (CBS) — A 27-year-old man killed in a crash with a big rig truck in Sylmar was identified Sunday by the coroner’s office.
Christian M. Medina of Sylmar drove his car into the back of a 53-foot big rig trailer in the 14400 block of Foothill Boulevard late Saturday afternoon, Coroner’s Investigator Jerry McKibben said.
Medina was pronounced dead at the scene, L.A. Fire Department Spokesman Brian Humphrey said. The truck may have been parked at the time of the crash, Humphrey said.
Foothill Boulevard was closed in both directions between Bledsoe and Roxford streets after the accident, Humphrey said.
No other injuries were reported.
The crash remains under investigation.
