EL CAJON (AP) — San Diego County sheriff’s deputies say the body of a newborn was found in a plastic bag in the backyard shed of a home in El Cajon.
Homicide Lt. Dennis Brugos says deputies were called when a family dog reacted suspiciously to the plastic bag. He says a woman who lives at the home called her son to help her investigate. They took the bag inside her home, opened it, found the full-term boy and called for help.
Paramedics pronounced the child dead and an autopsy is scheduled.
Brugos told City News Service there was no evidence that the infant belonged to anyone who lived at the home were the body was found.
