Records: Supervisor Drove County SUV Without License

SAN BERNARDINO (AP) — Records show a Southern California supervisor drove his county-provided sport utility vehicle without a valid driver's license for four years after his drunken-driving arrest in Illinois.

San Bernardino County Supervisor Paul Biane didn't notify the county about the 2005 arrest and on Tuesday said he was unaware his California driver's license was suspended until he attempted to renew it last year. The Illinois suspension applied to all states.

The San Bernardino County Sun says Biane's license was suspended because of his drunken driving arrest during a family trip to attend a Notre Dame-University of Southern California football game.

Biane was charged with driving under the influence, but pleaded guilty to reckless driving. His license was suspended for six months by it lasted four years because he didn't pay the $250 reinstatement fee.
