LOS ANGELES (CBS) — A man was arrested Tuesday morning after a standoff in the Harbor Gateway area, authorities said.
Police surrounded a home in the 1500 block of West 213th Street after the suspect allegedly fired a shotgun in the backyard around 3 a.m.
Some neighbors were evacuated while a SWAT team worked to take him into custody.
The standoff lasted for five hours, Richard French of the LAPD said.
The neighbor who reported the shotgun blast said the man’s father recently died and that he may have been drinking earlier in the day.
