VAN NUYS (CBS) — Officials in Van Nuys are asking for the public’s help to locate a 13-year-old girl they say is missing and possibly headed to Detroit.
Coraima Alfaro was dropped off at Fulton Middle School in Van Nuys on Friday about 7:30 a.m. and was not there when her mother came to pick her up at the end of the school day, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.
Coraima’s mother told police her daughter has a boyfriend who lives in Detroit and she told friends she was going to try to get to him.
The boyfriend’s first name might be “Angel.”
Coraima is described as a Latina with dark hair that has a reddish tone. She has brown eyes, is 5 feet 2 inches tall, and weighs 120 pounds. She was wearing a school uniform including navy blue pants, a blue shirt and a navy blue backpack.
Anyone with information about her whereabouts was asked to call the LAPD’s Mission Division at (818) 838-9800 or (877) LAPD-24-7 nights and weekends.

Why does this girl who is just a baby, have a boyfriend in Detroit. The mom thinks his name might be Angel, how do you not know?
I bet it’s another Myspace thing.
She has a boy friend? C’mon.
Are you sure the boyfriend’s name isn’t Honey, Sweetie, or Baby?
This is what those ‘popular’ tv shows does to your children… that it’s ok to have a boyfriend/girlfriend when they are just children! sick!
Some 13 year old girls are not children. Its not TV shows, it’s the parents fault
most latina females have boyfriends much younger than eleven, and are
pregnant by thirteen, their mothers encourage this by letting them do what they
want, and fixing themselves up with makeup, and sexy clothes starting around
nine. this girl probably feels she is already grown. their culture says they are
adults by fifteen.
Interesting that “the culture” says one thing, but everybody who bothers to give an opinion says another. “The culture” is obviously not “the culture.”
How about a picture? “has brown eyes, is 5 feet 2 inches tall, and weighs 120 pounds” sure narrows it down.
