CARSON (CBS) — A man found near a Carson mall was declared dead at a hospital Sunday, a sheriff’s deputy said.

The discovery was made at around 2:10 a.m. near the South Bay Pavilion mall near Del Amo Boulevard and Leapwood Avenue, Deputy Luis Castro said.

Sheriff’s homicide detectives were investigating the circumstances surrounding his death.
