O.C. Softball Coach Pleads Guilty To Sexually Abusing Ex-Girlfriend's Teen Daughter

SANTA ANA (CBS)  — Officials say a 43-year-old softball coach pleaded guilty Friday to sexually abusing his ex-girlfriend's teenage daughter.

The man was sentenced to nearly 13 years in state prison, according to his attorney.

Bardo Gerardo Gomez pleaded guilty to three counts each of lewd acts on a child, oral copulation of a person under 16 and unlawful sexual intercourse
and four counts of sodomy of a person under 16, defense attorney Vincent J. LaBarbera Jr. said.

Gomez, who was arrested in January, gave private softball pitching lessons to girls out of his home, Santa Ana police Cpl. Anthony Bertagna said.

Gomez sexually abused the victim over a two-year period, he said.
