Man Found Dead After Lomita Mobile Home Fire

LOMITA (CBS) — A man was found dead early Friday morning after a mobile home fire in Lomita, authorities said.

The fire was reported at 11:06 p.m. Thursday at 1851 Lomita Blvd., Los Angeles County Fire Department dispatch supervisor Phil Ulloa said. The blaze was extinguished at 12:24 a.m., Ulloa said.

Authorities were working to positively identify the man, as well as his cause of death, Sgt. Keith Taylor of the sheriff's Lomita Station said.

"We don't know if it's a homicide," Taylor said.

The cause of the fire was also under investigation. Damage was estimated at $55,000, county fire Inspector Fred Stowers said.
