CRESTLINE (AP) — The San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department says a woman shot to death her 9-year-old grandson and then turned the gun on herself.
A sheriff’s statement says James Snyder found his 50-year-old wife, Denise, and the boy dead in their rural Crestline home at about 5:30 p.m. Monday.
The Snyders had custody of the boy since his birth.
Investigators are trying to determine a motive for the shootings.
Crestline is in the San Bernardino National Forest about 65 miles east of downtown Los Angeles.
