'Do I Look Fat?': Campus Ban Says Don't Ask, Don't Tell

LOS ANGELES (CBS) —Friends don't let friends talk fat — at least according to the organizers behind a new drive aimed at restoring healthy body image to college campus across the U.S.

Starting next week, thousands of young adults on at least 35 campuses will take part in "Fat-Talk Free Week", a national campaign led by the Tri-Delta sorority to discourage the kind of critical comments that often prove damaging to students' body image.

The third annual "Fat Talk Free Week" first began at San Antonio's Trinity University in 2008, and since then the Reflections Body Image Program — developed by Carolyn Becker, an associate professor of psychology at Trinity, that school's sororities and the national Delta Delta Delta fraternity — has been introduced on more than 50 campuses.
