Ex-'Project Runway' Star Has Designs On HIV Awareness

LOS ANGELES (CBS) — Jack Mackenroth, one of the most popular designers from the TV series "Project Runway," is bringing his national HIV education campaign Living Positive By Design to California's largest HIV/AIDS fundraising event, the 26th Annual AIDS Walk Los Angeles.

Jack has been living with HIV for more than 20 years, and is involved in the campaign to help combat the stigma associated with HIV by engaging people in thoughtful conversation about the disease.

The AIDS Walk is Sunday.

Mackenroth was an in-studio guest on the KCAL 9 News at 2 p.m. Thursday to discuss Living Positive By Design.

With this group, Mackenroth hopes to engage young people with HIV and encourage them to better dialogue with their doctors about finding the best treatment regimens and to best manage side effects from their meds.
