Wayne Gretzky's Son Commits To San Diego State To Play Baseball

SAN DIEGO (AP) -- Trevor Gretzky, son of hockey great Wayne Gretzky, has committed to play baseball at San Diego State.

He is a first baseman who hit .341 with two home runs and 33 RBIs last spring at Westlake Village Oaks Christian High. The early signing period is Nov. 10-17.

San Diego State's coach is Hall of Famer Tony Gwynn. Gwynn revealed last week that he has cancer in a salivary gland.

Gwynn plans to continue coaching at his alma mater after undergoing radiation and chemotherapy.

Gretzky was also the football Oak Chrisitian's varsity quarterback, but has been limited due to a shoulder injury.
