Barricade Situation Reported In Sun Valley

SUN VALLEY (CBS) — Officials say a man with a gun has been holed up inside a Sun Valley restaurant.

Sharpshooters and bomb squad members were sent to the location Monday afternoon.

Police were called to the restaurant at Pendleton Street and Lankershim Boulevard about 4:20 p.m., said Officer Rosario Herrera of the Los Angeles
Police Department.

About 7 p.m., a man with a gun was still believed to be inside. It is not clear why he started the baricade situation.

Herrera said it was also not clear if there were any hostages.

    My uncle happens to work at that restaurant, and it was not a black man, apparently it was an Armenian that lives upstairs in the building. My uncle told us that some women came knocking at his house and scared him. He opened the door pointing a gun and the women called the cops. I heard the guy left the building a long time ago, I don’t think anyone is armed in there.
