LOS ANGELES (AP) — Officials say LAPD officers shot and wounded two suspects Saturday night in separate incidents.

LAPD Lt. John Romero says one of the shootings occurred in south Los Angeles and left a gunman in critical condition.

He says the shooting came after officers responded to a report of shots fired and were confronted by a man with an assault rifle.

Police shot the man, who was hospitalized. His name wasn’t released.

In another shooting, LA sheriff’s officials say deputies slightly wounded a 20-year-old suspect after he pointed a pistol at them in East Los Angeles.

Officials say David Alexander Perez fled on foot after deputies saw him looking into parked cars and when cornered drew the gun. He was treated at a hospital and later booked on weapons charges.

Hey Salvador, a little education for you. Cops don’t shoot to kill they shoot to STOP. Death is an occasional result of the shooting. It is only fantasy to think a bullet can be surgically aimed and hit someone so that they will only be wounded like in the movies.
