Firefighters Knock Down 3-Acre Brush Fire In Santa Clarita
SANTA CLARITA (CBS) — County and city firefighters Saturday battled a three-acre fire in medium-heavy brush in the Newhall Pass, a county fire dispatcher said.
Fire personnel were dispatched at 12:28 p.m. to Sierra Highway and Newhall Avenue.
Smoke and flames were visible from the Golden State (5) and Antelope Valley (14) freeways, the California Highway Patrol reported.
The fire was started by a group of kids playing with matches in some dry brush near a mobile home park.
