Death Of 2-Year-Old In Inglewood Ruled Homicide

INGLEWOOD (AP) — The Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department says the death of a 2-year-old girl in Inglewood has been ruled a homicide.

The department says an autopsy was conducted Thursday on the girl who died Wednesday night at an Inglewood hospital. The coroner ruled the cause of death a homicide, citing major physical trauma to the toddler.

Sheriff's Deputy Aura Sierra says 21-year-old Davon Smith has been arrested on suspicion of murder. He is being held without bail.

Authorities say the child was living with her maternal grandmother and an adult male. The child's mother is incarcerated.
