1 Person Wounded In Norwalk Park Shooting

NORWALK (CBS) — Officials reported Thursday that at least one person was shot at a park in Norwalk.

Gunfire erupted for unknown reasons just before 2 p.m. at Holyfield Park, 12500 Excelsior Drive, said Deputy Kevin Gavaghan of the Norwalk sheriff’s station.

“All we know right now is there is a kid at the hospital,” Gavaghan said about 3 p.m. “I don’t know any more, but I do know someone went to the hospital because I sent a deputy along to the hospital with him.”

No suspect information was immediately released.
