Dodger Stadium Protesters Blast Arizona Immigration Law

LOS ANGELES (CBS) — Protesters outside Dodger Stadium on Sunday demanded that the team urge Major League Baseball to move the 2011 All- Star Game out of Arizona because of its anti-illegal immigration law.

The activists also are asking that Dodger players refuse to play in the All-Star Game if MLB does not move the game from Phoenix, much like the National Football League did in 1993.

That year's Super Bowl game was moved from Arizona because it was then the only state that had not approved a holiday honoring the Rev. Martin Luther King Jr.

Major League Baseball Commissioner Bud Selig has so far refused to bow to activists' demands that
the All-Star Game game be moved.

Organizer John Morales said the protests against the Diamondbacks are "a way to speak out against the unjust and discriminatory SB 1070."

The law has drawn extensive protests, although its supporters say it merely brings Arizona statutes in line with existing federal immigration law.

Dodgers officials declined to comment on the protest.
