The event was held to promote the premiere of DreamWorks Animation's "Megamind," which is expected to be released in 3D Nov. 5th.

Superheroes Turn Out At LA Live To Set World Record, KNX 1070's Ed Mertz reports.

"We'd love it if you guys could break another world record and stay in your costumes for the entire month if that's possible," Ferrell said. "No showers… commit. We won't have a way to really monitor it so it will be the honor system, but we trust you guys," he added.

The gathering of superheroes beat the old record by 79 superheroes.
