Man Dies When Car Rear-Ends LA County Fire Engine

LOS ANGELES (AP) — Authorities say a 49-year-old man was killed when his car rear-ended a parked Los Angeles County fire engine on the 105 Freeway in Lynwood.

The California Highway Patrol says the 2011 Toyota crashed into the back of a fire engine that had stopped to help douse a vehicle fire early Sunday.

Delaron Hines was taken to a hospital where he was declared dead.

The CHP report says alcohol was a factor in the accident, according to the Los Angeles Times.

No firefighters were injured.
