Metrolink Train Kills Man In Riverside
RIVERSIDE (AP) — Authorities say a Metrolink commuter train has struck and killed a man in Riverside County.
Metrolink spokeswoman Angie Starr says a train carrying 150 passengers and 2 crew members struck a man on the tracks between the Riverside and Pedley stations shortly before 5 a.m. Monday.
Starr says nobody on the train was hurt. The passengers were taken by bus to a nearby train station and Starr says three other train lines are available.
Riverside police Lt. Bruce Blomdahl tells the Riverside Press Enterprise that the victim appears to be a homeless man in his 40s who straddled the tracks as the train approached.
Blomdahl says investigators will try to determine if he committed suicide.
