Cab Driver Dragged, Killed During Carjacking

LYNWOOD (AP) — Authorities say a taxi driver was killed after being dragged beside his cab after an apparent carjacking in Lynwood.

Los Angeles County Sheriffs Det. Bob Kenney tells the Los Angeles Times that witnesses reported seeing a man hanging from the window frame of a taxi as it moved down the street.

The suspect behind the wheel sideswiped the driver's side of the cab into three parked vehicles before exiting and running away.

The coroner's office says the victim was found lying in the street next to the car and was pronounced dead at the scene.

The victim's name and age were not released.

Robbery may have been a motive in this crime, according to detectives. Anyone with any information was urged to contact authorities at (323) 890-5500.
