Man Wanted For Trying To Pick Up Boy At Bus Stop

DANA POINT (CBS) — Sheriff's deputies are on the lookout for a man who offered to give an 11-year-old boy a ride to school in Dana Point.

The child's grandmother was dropping him off at a bus stop about 9 a.m. Thursday at Valley Parkway, south of Sea Island Drive. She saw a man make a u-turn and pull up to the boy at the bus stop, Orange County sheriff's spokesman Jim Amormino said.

The boy ran back to his grandmother and told her the man had offered him a ride.

The suspect pulled up to the grandmother and told her he was a teacher before driving away, Amormino said.

The suspect was described as a white man 50-60 years old, with short dark brown or gray receding hair. His car was a faded black, four-door Mercedes.
