Police Say Hygiene Spat Led To San Bernardino Murder

SAN BERNARDINO (AP) — Police say a Southern California man repeatedly plunged a knife into his 64-year-old mother, killing her, during an argument over her personal hygiene and cleanliness of the home they shared.

Antonio Uribes has been booked for investigation of murder.

The Riverside Press-Enterprise says deputies called to the San Bernardino home late Monday found the body of Emma Uribes in the living room.

Sgt. Dave Dillon says the woman's sister told detectives her 35-year-old brother stabbed her repeatedly with a large knife. Antonio Uribes was arrested a short time later at a nearby park.

Investigators say Uribes told them he had been frustrated with his mother over her hygiene and the cleanliness of the home.

Duran says the mother, son and daughter lived in the home.
