Change To Free Tickets Policy May Take Time

LOS ANGELES (CBS) — Although the city of LA's ethics panel has voted to ban free tickets for elected and other officials, it could be quite awhile before there's a final vote on this.

This all started when it was revealed mayor Antonio Villaraigosa had received scores of free tickets to sporting and cultural events to perform, he claims, ceremonial duties...He's now more than likely to show up, but not stay:

The ethics panel has voted to ban officials from accepting free tickets from donors who have pending business with the city.

In about 2 months, the ethics panel will vote again on specific language. Then it goes to the council, which will send it to committee, then the city attorney for vetting. Then it comes back to the council for a vote. How long will this take...months.
