Chino Hills Brush Fire Contained At 65 Acres

CHINO HILLS (AP) — Firefighters have surrounded a wildfire that forced the closure of Highway 71 and charred some 65 acres of brush in Chino Hills east of Los Angeles.

California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection spokesman Glenn Barley says the fire was contained by 8 p.m. Sunday night.

Barley says one engine was set to patrol the area through the night looking for hotspots or flare-ups.

The blaze that started Saturday burned along the highway and near a golf course and shooting range.

It did not damage any structures and no one was injured.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
