LOS ANGELES (CBS2/KCAL9) – Former Los Angeles Laker and basketball legend Kareem Abdul-Jabbar is throwing his support behind the “Stand Up 2 Cancer” telethon.
The man affectionately known as “Cap” has a more intimate knowledge than most about the destructive effects of cancer as the basketball hall-of-famer was diagnosed with leukemia last year.
Now Kareem is joining the fight against cancer, participating in tomorrow’s “stand up 2 cancer” telethon and KCAL 9 Sports Director Jim Hill sat down with the Laker legend Thursday to talk about the important cause.
