LA Medical Pot Distributors Want More Outlets

LOS ANGELES (AP) — Medical marijuana operators want more pot dispensaries in Los Angeles.

The operators asked the City Council on Tuesday to allow more dispensaries, saying many pot distributors will simply operate illegally.

Only 41 of the city's 169 applicants have met medical marijuana clinic standards and are allowed to remain in business.

But marijuana dispensary operators and supporters said 41 clinics isn't enough for the nation's second-largest city. Councilman Bill Rosendahl agreed that the city needs to re-examine the city imposed limit.

The city attorney's office says it is not enforcing the 41-clinic limit until the courts rule on its validity.
