USC Looking Into Leaving Pac-10?

LOS ANGELES (CBS) — BYU's decision to leave the Mountain West conference to go independent in football has USC Athletic Director Pat Haden exploring the option as well.

"I think you always have to look at every opportunity," Haden told cbssports.com's Chip Pattersonsaid from the football team's hotel in Hawaii.

"We're a happy member of the Pac-10. I don't have any ulterior motives or plans to advance the ball on this. I think the Pac-10 with a new commissioner and new opportunities has some growth built-in already. But would we every consider it? I think you have to. As an athletic director in today's environment, you have to consider every alternative."

A Pac-10 without USC could change a lot of things. Would the Pac-10 still be able to go forward with plans for its own television network?

Would they try to raid the BIG-12 again? Maybe turn to football power Boise State?
