RANCHO SANTA MARGARITA, Calif. (AP) — Arraignment is scheduled Wednesday for an Orange County man charged with killing his wife who vanished nearly six months ago.
Richard Forsberg, 61, was charged with murder Tuesday, one day after being arrested at a Palm Springs hospital, where authorities say he was being treated after attempting suicide.
Prosecutors say Forsberg got into an argument with his wife of 39 years, Marcia Forsberg, at their Rancho Santa Margarita home on Feb. 9, and repeatedly bludgeoned her in the head with a small statue when she turned her back.
They allege he kept her body in the home for several days, then drove to a campground in Lake Piru in Ventura County where he disposed of the body.
Forsberg is being held without bail.
