RIGHT! We are El Sereno, not Monterey Hills, Not Montecito Heights and definately not “the El Sereno Area of Lincoln Heights”! In the 70’s, the CRA of LA decided to kick out (evict) the residents of the 3900 block of Lomitas Drive in favor of building condos in what is now “Monterey Hills”. El Sereno was here 1st! I guess the media is just in a hurry to do their story that they don’t bother to check the facts. If it was in Studio City, they’d get it right. But we are a low- income community that doesn’t matter to the media—we won’t complain; heck, we don’t know how to use a computer!!! Yeah, right!

Is Dave Lopez the only one who got it right? He states “El Sereno”, but the headline says, “Monterey Hills”! Dave is a smart reporter who gets HIS facts straight—too bad his bosses don’t.
