State Moves to Strip LA Doctor of License

LOS ANGELES (AP) — A Southland doctor risks losing her license in the wake of a federal investigation into her loose-leaf prescription practices.

Medical officials say they are moving to revoke the license of a California doctor linked to several overdose cases.

The Osteopathic Medical Board of California said Monday it is working with the state attorney general's office to revoke Dr. Lisa Tseng's license.

Federal drug officials last week stripped her license to prescribe controlled substances, saying she was an "imminent danger" to the public.

Dr. Donald Krpan of the medical board says his agency has received multiple complaints about Tseng dating back more than a year.

According to an affidavit, she prescribed OxyContin and other medications to at least three patients who died of drug overdoses.

Tseng did not immediately return a call Monday.
